Report by the Head of the European Defence Agency to the Council
1. The report by the Head of the European Defence Agency (EDA) to the Council of the EU describes progress across the Agency’s main output areas for 2019. This includes prioritisation and planning in support of a coherent European capability landscape (including the Capability Development Plan, Coordinated Annual Review on Defence and Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO)); supporting a range of Member State defence projects and programmes; providng an interface for Member States to access broader EU policies (including Military Mobility; Hybrid; Cyber; Artificial Intelligence; Maritime; Space; Radio spectrum; Aviation; Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of CHemicals (REACH); Energy and Circular Economy); engagement with other stakeholders and third parties (including NATO) and corporate issues.
2. The Head of Agency’s report for 2018 was cleared by the House of Lords European Union Committee on 27 November 2018. The House of Commons European Scrutiny Committee cleared the document on 19 December 2018.
