COUNCIL REGULATION (EU) 2017/1509 of 30 August 2017 concerning restrictive measures against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and repealing Regulation (EC) No 329/2007
On 23 June 2016, the EU referendum took place and the people of the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union. The Government respected the result and triggered Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union on 29 March 2017 to begin the process of exit. Until exit negotiations are concluded, the UK remains a full member of the European Union and all the rights and obligations of EU membership remain in force. During this period, the Government will also continue to negotiate, implement and apply EU legislation.13. UNSCR 2270 (2016) was adopted in March 2016 in response to the continuing threat from DPRK. This Council Decision creates a new Annex to UNSCR 2270 (2016) to list entities of the Government of the DPRK or the Workers' Party of Korea, or by persons acting on their behalf or at their direction. The EU regulation transposing UNSCR 2270 (2016) on DPRK was amended several times. In view of the extent of the amendments introduced, it was appropriate to consolidate all measures into a new Council Regulation (EU) 2017/1509 which repeals and replaces Regulation (EC) No.329/2007.
