COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2017/154 of 27 January 2017 updating the list of persons, groups and entities subject to Articles 2, 3 and 4 of Common Position 2001/91/CFSP on the application of specific measures to combat terrorism, and repealing Decision (CFSP) 2016/1136
The attached Council Decision and Council Implementing Regulation provides for the conclusion of the most recent review of the listings under the EU’s counter terrorism asset freezing regime, ‘CP931,’ (EU Common Position 931 of 2001). Three individuals nominated by the national competent authorities of Bulgaria and the Netherlands, as part of the 6-monthly review process, were added to the list of individuals and entities under the CP931 Regime on 22 December 2016.
Common Position 2001/931/CFSP (‘CP931’) was adopted in December 2001 to implement UNSCR 1373 (2001), which introduced an asset freeze and enhanced police and judicial cooperation against persons, groups or entities involved in terrorism. This is a separate regime to the measures introduced via UNSCR 1390 (2002), which specifically target Al-Qaida and the Taliban
