COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) …/... of 28.6.2019 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2016/429 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards rules for establishments keeping terrestrial animals and hatcheries, and the traceability of certain kept terrestrial animals and hatching eggs
1. This Commission Delegated Regulation provides rules for the registration of establishments where terrestrial animals are kept and hatcheries, and for the traceability of certain kept terrestrial animals, and on hatching eggs. It has been adopted by the Commission under the EU’s so-called “Animal Health Law” (Regulation (EU) 2016/429 on transmissible animal diseases and amending and repealing certain acts in the area of animal health). The Animal Health Law brings together and simplifies the EU animal health regulatory framework that had previously operated, and enables Member States to react quickly in cases of animal health emergencies.
2. The Regulation which is the subject of this EM has been subject to discussion in expert working groups and with stakeholders during 2018-19. The UK has been involved throughout the process. It was adopted by the Commission on 28 June 2019.
